As a general rule Jo takes the photographs and I serve as her “Equipment Boy”.
Jo: I highly recommend that you get a good equipment boy. I continually find new uses for mine from holding an umbrella, moving cars or even serving as a temporary tripod support.

Jo and I have known each other since the 5th grade and
do just about everything together. This approach has always worked well for us and learning
the art of photography has been no different. Over the years Jo has taken many “vacation” photos of our “outdoor adventures”.
However, when we purchased a new digital camera a couple of years ago things
changed drastically.
After a few frustrating months we decided
to make a serious attempt at improving our skills. The learning curve proved to be very steep and it took some
time for us to find an approach that seemed to work. We enjoy sharing what we
have learned so we have written a "One Year Learning the
Art of Photography" eBook and several "Trip Journals" to share
some of these details.
We certainly are not traditional photographers and Jo likes to say “We may not always have it together, but together we have it all”. However, I
tend to think that if you ran across us in the field you might be more inclined to agree with some of our photography friends. “It's like looking at a car wreck.
You just cannot help but stare as you walk by but
somehow it all works out.”
